Is Bicycling Bad for The Enviroment
Did you ever ride a bike? Riding a bike is not only a tool that helps you instead of walking. It can be a kind of exercise that enhances our health as well. According to the article “Is Bicycling Bad for The Environment?” adapted from Breaking News English, bicycling is a kind of pollution. A representative from Washington State whose name is Ed Orcutt stated that bicycling would make humans produce more Co2. It is that main factor that causes Global Warming. He also stated that cyclists should pay a tax for using the road because that is unfair to motorists. Dale Carlso, who owns the Bike shop, didn’t agree with Mr. Orcutt’s ideas because riding a bicycle can reduce congestion, road use and patrol on highway.
One interesting thing that caught my attention is that riding a bicycle can pollute our environment. However, I disagree with this idea. I ride my bike sometimes. When I use normal speed to ride my breath goes normally. Also, the bicycle’s quality is developing very well in these days. You don’t need to use too much strength to pedal can still go fast.
Let’s think a person who drives a car to work. A car that can emits gas that depends what kind of car is. When the man is driving, he is breathing. At same time, the car also emits gas. These two factors added together, the car cannot be better than riding a bicycle because a bicycle don’t produce CO2. Therefore Mr. Orcutt’s idea is wrong.
On the other hand, we breathe all the time. I go to park with my brother every weekend. We play basketball and run. In the park, everyone is running and playing. They produce more CO2 than cyclists. Exercise makes us increasing breathing because this is our nature react.
We can’t do anything with our respiration. We are breathing all the time. Every morning we can see people running on the road, and athletes training every day. If our breathing can be defined as a kind of pollution, that is against ourselves.
